The ski team is looking forward to another successful season this year under the leadership of co-captains senior Emily DeTour and junior Amanda Dobbin. Losing three of their top skiers from last year, Wilson Fleming, Jeffrey Cole and Alex Dobbin, they still look to continue their 10487557_10203097372133063_3725170935820502083_nsuccess on the slopes. “I look forward to winning states again,” Emily said. “We’re state champs five years running so that’s the big goal.”Nesbett

While the team lost some important skiers from last year, they still expect big things from newcomers such as sophomores Russell Walker, Morgan Connelly and Tigger . “We lost some of our best skiers obviously, so we just want to make sure we can build everyone up to that point where we have the same team that can win states,” Emily said

Amanda looks to improve the team both on unnamed-1and off the slopes. “We’re planning on improving this year by practicing hard, trying to ski as much as possible and overall, bringing a good attitude out on the slopes,” Amanda said.

With the season coming to a start, Emily and Amanda expect to place well in the regular season with hopes of continuing their winning streak in the state championship. “It’s going to be a good season,” Emily said. “It’s going to be fun and I’m really excited.”

The team’s first competition is on Wednesday, January 7.
