Under the control of senior captain Elizabeth Miller, Marina Braccio, and Meghan Selvaggi, the girls basketball team is looking to bounce back after a rough start to the season. After losing to St. Joes, Stamford, and Trumbull, their only three games so far, they look to take on Brien McMahon on Friday, December 19th, at 5:30 at Brien McMahon.

Returning varsity player sophomore Erica Smith is hoping to change the results of the rest of the games, as the team set goals prior to their first game. “We set goals at the beginning of the season that we want to achieve this year” Erica said.

Junior Olivia Hunsinger is looking forward to playing Darien, as she feels the two teams will be fairly matched. “They only had 12 girls try out for the Freshman, JV, and Varsity team, so they are really hurting. Hopefully we can monopolize on that and beat them,” Olivia said.

Erica is also looking forward to seeing the results of this season, as they have seen much improvement and change throughout the past year. “We have two new coaches this year: Coach Welsh and Coach Brander, so that should be exciting,” Erica said. “I am looking forward to seeing improvement of each player. Our program has continued to grown since last year.”
