The boys basketball team has already started preparing for their upcoming season, dusting off the basketballs to hopefully make as many hoops as they did last season. Senior co-captains Kyle Smith and Jack Havard look to lead the team to victory this season after losing seniors Claude Chandonnet and Paul Hagopian from last year.

Jack is hoping that the team’s rigorous training during the regular and off-season will pay off this year, with many players who have gotten stronger outside of the regular basketball season. “We’ve been working out since September, practicing six days a week, mainly focusing on strength and conditioning so far,” Jack said. “We’re looking to be stronger defensively because we have so many guys that have gotten better, and I think this will really help our team to improve this season.”

Kyle also has high hopes for the team this season, which includes beating teams like Darien and Bridgeport this year. “Our goal is to try to win eight games to make the playoffs this year. We want to beat Darien this season, along with some other Bridgeport schools that we had some hard losses to last season,” Kyle said.

The team’s first game is on Tuesday, December 22 vs. Trumbull at 7:00 pm at Trumbull.
