Boys basketball loses to Warren Harding

On Tuesday, December 22, the boys’ basketball team took on the Warren Harding High School Presidents at home and came out on the losing end, 63-42.

The visitors rushed out to a 21-5 first-quarter lead, and then the Presidents used a stifling defense to coast the rest of the way to victory.

The Rams started slowly, scoring just five points (three free throws and one field goal) in the first quarter and turning the ball over multiple times. Rams coach, Jeff Bussey, gave credit to a tough Harding defense. “[Harding coach Charles Bentley] has been there for twenty years, so they are always well coached,” Bussey said…

With 26 points against Darien and 40 against Norwalk to start off the season, Conor House is this week’s Athlete of the Week. The 26 points Conor scored against Darien helped the Rams achieve a 78-55 win. Two nights later at Norwalk he scored 40 points, but the Rams were defeated 91-81…

Tomorrow there will be a mandatory senior breakfast. Seniors will be excused from classes from 8-10:30 to learn about the transition from high school to college and life in college.

The first part of the event will take place from 8-9:15 in the College and Career Center. Members of the Board of Education, the Superintendent of Schools David Abbey, and a select cross-section of freshman college students will be chosen to represent different kinds of colleges and universities…
