We’re entering week 11 of the college football season, and so far the season has been laced with drama. Except, the drama is for all the wrong reasons, with off the field issues overshadowing the play on the field. Before the season even began, the college football world was rocked by a Yahoo! story about a renegade University of Miami booster who allegedly committed a myriad of NCAA violations. That was after an offseason filled with other issues, including “Tattoo-gate” with Ohio State, and Oregon and LSU dealing with a scout by the name of Willie Lyles. Still, all of that pales in comparison to the recent story at Penn State regarding an alleged child molester of a former coach and a lack of decisive action on the part of the higher-ups at the school.

Could there have been a better storyline heading into Monday afternoon’s boys soccer game at Darien High School? 3-0 victories last Friday by both Darien and New Canaan set up a CIAC second round matchup between the two archrivals. Darien, the fifth seed in the state playoffs, played host to the 12th seeded Rams, a rematch of the October 10th regular season game where the two teams battled to a 1-1 draw.

I hope it isn’t just me, but I feel like I have special relationships with celebrities even if I’ve never met them. When my girl Kim K filed for divorce a few weeks ago I was in shock because I had just celebrated her wedding 72 days before. When I say that I celebrated her wedding to Kris Humpries I mean that I spent 3 hours on the Dr. Pit couch in our living room watching her 3 part wedding special on E! News.
Most people have continued quite a few activities from their toddlerhood. They speak, walk, use the bathroom under their own volition and power, etc. However, for many of the dancers at the New England Academy of Dance (NEAD), they have been doing ballet since the age of three, or to put in greater perspective, before most of them can remember.
