School colors of red and black overtook almost the student population on Red and Black day, Oct. 21. Red and black day is a time for school spirit, unity, and the spirit day that usually has the most participation–and intensity–of all the other Spirit Week days.

For many, Red and Black day is a favorite. “This is one of my favorite spirit days this week, because it shows how much people care about the school,” freshman Carl Fagerstal said.
“Clearly its the best day! I get to be creative with red and black,” sophomore Sophia Curiale said.
The outfits are one of the focuses of red and black day. “ I like dressing up and wearing face paint,” freshman Tess Mackenzie said.
Besides the outfits, students like red and black day for the spirit of bringing together the school community. “My favorite part is seeing the school unite and watch everyone embarrass themselves in the Pep Rally dances,” sophomore Evelyn Avalos said.
“After having the other spirit days where you saw student segregated in to groups it was awesome to see them united as one under red and black,” junior Alex Brannan said.
Senior Daisy Bishop put it simply. “It encourages unity,” she said.
