As avid Swifties, devoted to all that is Taylor Swift, we have decided to share our support for this exceptional artist by ranking the songs in each of her albums. It is critical to clarify that we love all of Swift’s work, and are simply expressing how we personally favor the songs in her portfolio. We will release our rankings in order of initial album releases, so be sure to check up on the Courant website for our Fearless ranking next!

1. Our Song

  • Our Song is not only our favorite, but also by far the most popular song on the album with nearly 140 million plays on Spotify. The song stands out with its country sound, catchy tune and themes of youthful love. It’s a clear go-to song on this album, and withstands the test of time.

2. Should’ve Said No

  • Should’ve Said No is a high energy, passion-driven song that wins our second rank. It became Taylor’s second number one single on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and also hit the Billboard Hot 100. Exemplifying the emotions that can accompany a high school relationship, Should’ve Said No resonates with generations of teenagers.

3. Picture To Burn

  • Picture to Burn continues to represent our affinity for strong—and maybe even angry—songs by the young Taylor. As she comes into her distinct writing style, Taylor uses metaphors, analogies, and characterizations to enhance this song’s impact. There are also 5 official versions of Picture to Burn, each catered to a specific audience.
