Got nothing to do this summer? Then catch up on your favorite bands at some of these popular music festivals from June to August!

 

Alive at Five:

Where: Stamford, CT

When: Jun. 21 – Aug. 2

Price: $10

Genre: Alternative

Centered in the outdoor venue of Columbus Park in downtown Stamford, Alive @ Five is the perfect way to start a music-filled summer. “I know a lot of people who go there to enjoy music and socialize,” junior Sam Murray said. The concerts feature bands like Hot Chelle Rae and begin at 5 p.m.

Lollapalooza

Where: Chicago, IL

When: Aug. 3-5

Price: $95

Genre: Alternative Rock

Since 1991, Lollapalooza has been a popular music festival featuring grunge rock bands. Though a bit pricey, this concert has a great line-up including the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys and Florence and the Machine.

Vans Warped Tour

Where: Across the Country

When: Jun. 16- Aug. 5

Price: $45

Genre: Pop Punk

This summer tour makes its way to the Connecticut area July 22, as the full day concert stops over in Hartford.  “I’m going to see We The Kings,” junior Neal Koller said. “It’s good to be outside in the summer.” The festival also features bands such as All Time Low and Yellowcard.

Governors Ball

Where: Randall’s Island, NY

When: Jun. 23-24

Price: $95

Genre: Rap & Alt. Rock

This unknown, two day concert includes big time bands this year. The Governors Ball features rock icon Beck, as well as Passion Pit and Kid Cudi. In addition to the great music, a variety of games and  photo booths will be featured on the Randall Island Park area.
