Baby Blue Eyes

I have no idea why the group A Rocket to the Moon is called an “emo pop quartet” by iTunes, but their song “Baby Blue Eyes” is the second most popular song on their latest album On Your Side (which came out in October ’09) and is my favorite by far.

Being the complete wannabe that I am, I actually looked up the guitar tab and tried to learn how to play it. Baby Blue Eyes is all guitar and the clear voice of a love struck boy, which is why I like it. It’s kind of similar to NeverShoutNever’s song Can’t Stand It from their What is Love? album.

The group is made up of Nick Santino on vocals and guitar, Justin Richards on guitar, Eric Halvorson on bass, and Andrew Cook on drums. They have three albums and two EPs since starting out in 2006. Right now they are on the 2010 Take Action Tour with We the Kings, Stereo Skyline, Call the Cops, Mayday Parade, and There for Tomorrow. The tour donates money to non-profit organizations all over the world. A Rocket to the Moon has the whole package — a sweet band, a beautiful song (“Baby Blue Eyes”), a tour with a great cause, and no where to go but up.
