This Saturday, January 9th, the New Canaan High School theater program is hosting a gala in order to raise money for a new sound system. The theme of the evening is Magic to Do, and will provide the audience with an array of solo and group performances. The gala will feature the Academy and Grammy Award winning music of Stephen Schwartz, which includes songs from Wicked, Godspell, Enchanted, and Pippin. Guest performances of the night include New England Dance Academy, New Canaan Academy of Dance, Saxe Middle School, and The Studio Performing Arts New Canaan.

Senior Jacob Freedgood, an active member of the theater program, can hardly wait for the night to come. “I’m excited to show what we’ve worked on with Into the Woods so far…everyone’s solos are also really good,” he said.

The night kicks off at 7pm, and tickets can be bought either online or at the door. Tickets purchased prior to the evening cost $25.00 plus a $2.00 handling fee, and tickets at the door cost $30.00. All proceeds raised from this event are going towards acquiring a new sound system for the high school auditorium.
