The students saw double (or triple, or quintuple) on Clone Day, Oct. 19. Most agreed that the day brought a lot of fun.
“I just love looking completely ridiculous and seeing everyone go crazy in the lounge,” junior Lily Citrin said.
Seniors Lauren Jansen and Jackie Slemp organized the Oompa Loompa outfits for 108 girls this year. “I’ve wanted to do Oompa Loompas since freshmen year, and every year it has been out voted so this year I decided to step up and make it happen,” Lauren said. “I think it turned out really great and I’m so happy to see us all together and go out with a bang! The costume order came to a total of over six thousand dollars. [But] it’s really cool organizing and being a part of such a huge record-breaking clone day.”
According to Jackie, “It was really difficult because everyone had a lot of opinions. We spent a lot of time researching for all the materials at the cheapest price. Especially finding 108 of each… it’s nearly impossible! In the end it was a lot of fun.”
Sophomore Miki McKinley dressed up as a Who. “It was really fun because we all met up and I feel like we all actually matched,” she said.
Senior Devon Calhoun said, “The whole theme is Thanksgiving. Half of us are pilgrims, and the other half are Indians. I, however, am special because I volunteered to be the turkey!”
Sophomore Michael Pickhart dressed up in a sombrero and poncho. “We went to Halloween City and saw these ponchos,” he said. “We thought it’d be a cool idea.”
“The best part about clone day is entering school for the first time. The initial surprise of what people dressed up as is always awesome,” junior Madison Boniface said.
