A student’s sketchbook can be as personally guarded as a cellphone, but senior Katie Melland pulled out her sketchbook with a smile. She flipped through its vivid pages full of colorful ink and collaged pictures from the web. “It’s really just a mix,” she said.

Summer Art Show success

On Thursday night during the Parents’ Open House, the new Summer Art Show will be featured in the lobby of NCHS.

The show highlights art specifically created this summer by both students and faculty and ranges from paintings, to poetry and even video presentations.

A summer spent intensely artistic

Immersed 24/7 in a pool of artistic wonderment, I spent eight straight weeks up in New Milford, Connecticut at Buck’s Rock Creative and Performing Arts Camp. This was my fourth summer at the camp. Being a Counselor in Training (CIT), I also kept a job half the day at the painting studio where I worked helping children paint and draw in a variety of medias.
