Class of 2025
I have no doubts many students at NCHS have their future sights aimed at the business or entrepreneurial world.
Whether you simply want to be your own boss or you have a passionate entrepreneurial drive, your future path likely won’t be easy. Amongst other things, one of the most important aspects of getting started is establishing a network that you can call on for insights and opportunities. But how do you even begin building one?
I can’t give you a magic formula, but here’s a potential way to start. On April 11, Neal Pawar, Chief Operation Officer of Enfusion, will offer a business seminar, targeted to high school students, in the Rotary Room at the Fairfield Public Library, at 4 pm. Enfusion is a leading company in the Fin-tech/Investment Management sector, and Neal has experience at many other similar firms in the industry.
Students will have access to a full Q&A at the end of this seminar and will be able to seek guidance for future career paths and options that lay ahead. For those who may not fully comprehend it’s value, allow me to further explain.
You’ll hear it countless times, “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.” Whilst I don’t agree with it fully, I do see it as a reality of the world. As NCHS students, many of us are fortunate enough to be in positions where we already have a whole network of insights and knowledge surrounding us in day-to-day lives. Nevertheless, creating your own network is highly beneficial.
Not only could relying solely upon your parent’s network and circle be perceived as nepotism, but it is also important to take some time and carve your own path. Establish your own footholds, seed your own roots, all that inspirational stuff – especially in areas where your parents may not be well connected.
Who knows, maybe an hour of your time at the seminar and the ability to ask questions to an industry leader like Neal could change the trajectory of your life. A little extreme? Perhaps, but truly there is an intrinsic value to take away from this opportunity.
The event is run by a non-profit called the Youthpreneur Initiative. If you would like to know more about future events and details be sure to follow the Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/youthpreneurinitiative/
