Cramming information you learned at the beginning of the semester, drinking coffee to stay awake, and burning candles to alleviate the stress means it’s time to take midterm exams. Midterms land in the middle of the school year, always catching the student body by surprise. With so many chapters to reread, math problems to go over, and history to review in such little time, stress forms. So, how did the student body soothe the growing stress throughout the long week of exams?
Jake Song:
“I sleep a lot, usually five hours. I actually don’t study too much…some of my classes aren’t too stressful. But yeah, I usually just sleep alot.”
Steffi Badanes:
“I listen to music and study with friends and when we feel like we need a break, we dance to the Backstreet Boys.”

“Facebook helps me a lot… Facebook games like the ‘click challenge’ allows me to relieve stress”
Natalia Ozendo:
“I eat lots of food, listen to music, and that’s pretty much it. I never really know how to relieve my stress.”
Brian Bernard:
“I just hope for the best and walk it [the stress]out. I also listen to music — music always works.”
Emma Urban:
“Singing helps me relieve stress. I usually belt out to Glee Songs, like “Don’t Stop Believing”. It gives me confidence to take the exams.”
Matt Maguire:
“I study a lot, drink a ton of coffee, and hang out with friends.”
Kaitlin Ostling:
“I do some intense Tai Kwon Do! It’s a huge stress reliever.”
Daisy Bishop and Elizabeth Jurcik:
“I drink alot of fluids– tea, Starbucks, orange juice, Jamba Juice. I don’t know why, but it really helps me concentrate and help me not to be so stressed out,” Daisy said.
“I light lavender scented candles, run, and I also drink a lot of tea,” Elizabeth said.
Nick Montanaro:
“When I’m stressed out, I play Xbox. I play games like Bayonetta and Magic: The Gathering. After I play for a while, I’m stress-free and ready to study.”
