Students who want to participate in the NCHS Scholarship Foundation’s Color Run, which will take place on Saturday, April 28  at 9:30 am, can register online at NCHS-SF.org, according to Steffi Loomis, co-chair of the PTA and organizer of the event.

The purpose of the event is to raise money for scholarships for NCHS graduates. “We were able to provide 54 graduates with scholarships,” she said, but the, “the average scholarship however was less than $2,000 – with the community’s support, hope we can do better than that in years to come.”

When students register, they will receive their ticket to participate. “Individual tickets are $40, or $50 if purchased day of, family tickets are $150. We will
provide a t-shirt, glasses and paint packet to everyone who signs up,” she said. Those who register in advanced can pick up their packs in main lobby anytime during the remainder of this week.

Principal Bill Egan recognizes the importance of participating in the run. “The fund is vitally important.  It provides students who meet demonstrated need, money to help pay for college tuition. The run is our annual fundraising event that replaced the scholarship drive last year,” he said.
