The boys swimming and diving team is looking to make a splash this upcoming season, hoping for a win after placing third at states and fifth at FCIACs last year. The team’s three senior co-captains Trey Oehmler, Miles Turpin and Griffin Edmonds are excited to make their last season together count, despite losing a few good swimmers from last year.

Miles is looking forward to improving the team’s depth this season with the addition many new talented freshmen. “We’ve gained a bunch of freshman this year, there were kids who swam on the YMCA team that I have already gotten to know, and I know that they can really improve the team,” Miles said.

Head coach Dave Fine also has high hopes for this season and is looking to avenge the team’s losses from last year in their championship meets. “We’re looking to ideally place in the top three at states and FCIACs and be in the top 6 at opens.” coach Fine said. “We have depth back, and we’re building our strength and confidence this year. This is the team that we’ve had for two years, and I think that this year their confidence will show in who they are and what they can accomplish this season.”

The team’s first meet is on Monday, December 21 vs. Brien McMahon at 3:15 pm at Brien McMahon/Norwalk.
