Until December 3rd, when you thought of Jersey Shore you would think of the actual place, but now the term Jersey Shore alludes to MTV’s reality TV show of the same name.
Filmed in August, 2009, Jersey Shore follows eight housemates living together in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, working at a boardwalk T-shirt shop, partying all hours, and getting into trouble. The show’s finale on January 21st broke ratings records for MTV with an estimated 4.8 million viewers…

At NCHS, Senior Blake Garrity is known for his role on the Varsity football team’s offensive line, his laid-back personality, and his trademark red hair.
But for his artistic abilities? Not so much. However, with word of his website starting to get around, all of that may be about to change.
Click on Blake’s website, and you’ll see slideshows of perfectly wooded guitars, multicolored bowls, robots, and much more, all designed by Blake himself. Blake’s interest in creation and invention dates back to his elementary school years. “In fourth grade, one of my friends invited me to participate in a woodworking class, over at ‘The Woodworker’s Club’ in Norwalk, CT,” he said. “I ended up signing up for classes myself, and continued solely with woodworking for a couple of years.”
It wasn’t long, however, before Blake’s interests started to branch out, and other forms of art caught his eye…

Meet Split Second. A four guy musical group who has self produced their own album on DatPiff.com called Up Past Lights. Although I don’t know much about them, as they are a freelance and self-made group, they seem like sweet guys with major talent at producing music. On the album they go by the names Xcel, Jaxx, and Dougie P.
This Thursday, Jan. 28th, a group of seniors will take the National Assessment of Education Progress Exam (NAEP). According to Assistant Principal Ari Rothman, the exam is often referred to as “the nation’s report card.” The exam is run by the U.S. Department of Education, and its results are used to collect data on a national basis. This year, seniors will take a writing assessment.
