Senior Profile: Lucia Molina

Lucia Molina
Retired Editor-in-Chief

I began taking journalism three years ago as a sophomore and now I end my NCHS journalist journey knowing more than I had anticipated about the field of communications. As a sophomore, my starting position was being a reporter, but as I worked towards having more responsibility in the class, I became a Features editor. I held this position the end of my sophmore year and all through junior year, at the end of which I became one of two editors-in-chief for the Courant year 2011-2012.

These three years have taken me out of my comfort zone, and by doing so, have helped me grow as a person and a leader. I hope to take the skills I’ve learned from my advsiors, Mr. Mcateer and Mr. Cebulski, to college with me and to continue exploring the world of communications.

The following are a few of my favorite articles written by me and other classamtes throughout these past three years:

This was one of my first big stories I wrote sophomore year about the approaching snow days and plans for making up missed school days:

In Light of the snow

One of my next big stories was the profile on Devin Campbell’s mural in the hallway known as the “long, sketchy hallway” now dubbed the “Underground”:

Student artist leaves her colorful mark

I enjoyed writing other arts stories such as:

The Drowsy Chaperone Preview

Stewart Taylor takes on “Kickstarter”

I also wrote a few Style Book blogs which featured latest trends and styles:

Spring Wardrobe 101

Some of my favorite stories and blogs by other classmates include the following:
