Junior members of the Student Coalition fulfilled their class project and raised $560 for the Food Bank. With guidance from advisor Marianne Cohen, the students organized food collection and attended the Turkey Bowl looking for donations. Not only did New Canaan students and parents donate but even those from rival town, Darien did.

Junior Class President Claire Conley worked alongside Political Class President Ali Deambrosio, Social Class President Jordan Smith, and junior delegate Krishen Adalja at the game to collect donations in jars and promote the cause with posters. The success was a product of innovation by StuCo and the willingness to give from local citizens.

“It was a group effort,” Claire said. “Our community is filled with people who are capable of philanthropy and to see two communities who are willing to contribute is a blessing.”

The next project for the juniors of StuCo is prom! Check back soon for updates from the prom committee and more on StuCo class charity projects including the sophomore hat drive.
