As the months of 2024 continue to breeze by, we inch closer to important and staple fashion events that are known worldwide and streamed globally. These events consist of Paris fashion week, New York fashion week, Grammy’s and the Oscars. But there is one event, most known for its infamous ratings and enticing themes, if you couldn’t guess, it’s the Met Gala. This annual event hosts top celebrities who dress in world renowned fashion brands like Versace, Louis Vuitton, Channel and many more. As we approach this event, there have been multiple leaks, including guest lists and the most important thing of the entire event, the theme.
People often look over the main point of this gala and focus more on the celebrities and their outfits, but the most important thing is why, why are we hosting this event? The Met Gala is a charity event aimed at raising funds for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Under the guidance of Vogue’s editor-in-chief, Anna Wintor, the event is hosted in New York City and attracts designers and celebrities across the globe. Now that we understand what this important event is, we can now dive deeper into the theme and what we personally think about this upcoming event.
It has been announced that this year’s Met Gala theme is “ The Garden of Time”. Many of us have high hopes for this theme and cannot wait to see what is created for the carpet. Here are our opinions on this upcoming theme:
Olivia’s + Isabella’s POV on Theme:
Personally we think that this year’s theme is great. We love the idea of having a theme that connects to the outside world but also explores the past. We can’t wait to see what the designers come up with or if any celebrities wear vintage pieces from the archives from the designer of their choice.
In terms of guest list, there have been multiple leaks on who is attending on various websites and apps. However, there has now been an announcement from Vogue the 2024 hosts! The hosts are; Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya and Anna Wintor herself. In previous years, we have seen Emma Chamberlin, Liza Koshi and many more. Here are our thoughts on the hosts:
Olivia’s + Isabella’s POV on hosts:
We think the hosts for this year are great but I do have a favorite. We think Zendaya will be the most promising host in terms of enticing the audience with funny commentary and interesting questions. We think a host that will struggle is Chris Hemsworth. I say this because I feel like he is more of an introvert and will be more on the quiet side.

Olivia’s + Isabella’s Opinion on the Guest List:
For people who are going to be the most promising in terms of outfit are, Dua Lipa, Bella Hadid, Blake Lively, Harry Styles and Kylie Jenner. These celebrities have had strong outfits in the previous years like Dua’s outfit last year followed the theme exactly and was still elegant and beautiful. We am most excited to see what Ice Spice and Cardi B bring to the carpet because their style is rambunctious and loud and will definitely bring some spice to this years Met
Overall, this well known and world renowned event is appealing to many fashion lovers, designers, celebrities and obviously the public. WE cannot Wait for the first Monday in May of 2024 to see these interesting outfits and some would say art.
