Senior picnic takes place August 31 due to hurricane delay

Due to Hurricane Irene complications and school cancellations, the senior picnic, originally scheduled to take place on Monday, August 30th was delayed until the following day. The Student Coalition sold senior t-shirts for $5 in front of NCHS at 11 am. In accordance to tradition, members of the class of 2012 gathered later in the high school parking lot to paint car windows. Assistant Principal Ari Rothman attended the event while NCPD officials were busy assisting the town-wide clean up.

Hurricane Irene damage extends NCPS opening to September 6th

On Saturday, August 27, Hurricane Irene hit Connecticut, causing one of the greatest power outages the state has ever seen. According to the New York Post, the storm, which started in Puerto Rico almost a week before it hit here, left nearly 6.7 million people in thirteen states without power. The power of New Canaan residents was promised to be restored by Tuesday night.

As summer ends and the 2011-2012 year rolls around, school starts with new leadership under Principal Bryan Luizzi, the successor of Principal Tony Pavia. Previously the 5-year Principal of Brookefield High School, Dr. Luizzi aims to become an active participant in the NCHS community.

Courant signs off for the summer

As we near completion of the 2010-2011 school year we bid farewell to our seniors and prepare for a restful summer.
