Last Saturday, May 29, the boys lacrosse team fell one goal short of an FCIAC championship, as they lost 5-4 to the Greenwich Cardinals at Brien McMahon High School, in front of a maximum capacity crowd. The Rams almost completed a comeback for the record books, being down 5-0, but could not come through with the tying goal in the fourth quarter.

On Saturday, May 29, the girls lacrosse team could not climb out of a 7-0 deficit, falling to Wilton by a score of 12-8. The Rams had high hopes for this game against Wilton, especially because they beat them 20-14 earlier in the season. However, for the third consecutive year, the Rams were unable to come out with a victory in the FCIAC championship game.

Ok, I get it, we’re in high school and we’re supposed to experiment with different things. Every girl occasionally craves trying something new, some even prefer the little risk of wearing something that gives them a feel-good high.

On Thursday, May 27, hundreds of students attended International Night in the cafeteria. Students brought dishes from different cultures to share in addition to putting on musical performances, both of which counted as extra credit in their language classes. Select students also received awards for their language classes.

For those students who have watched the new HBO mini-series The Pacific, the characters and the violent battles of World War II are graphic and realistic. But even more vivid are the stories of the men who actually served in those campaigns, more than a hundred of whom will be coming here tomorrow, Thursday, May 27, for the annual pre-Memorial Day veterans assembly.
The assembly will run from 10:30-12:30, but according to Social Studies Department Chair Richard Webb, it may run a little longer. “This is probably going to the longest assembly yet, so we may be excusing kids from 10-1,” Mr. Webb said.
