On Wednesday, March 13, the boys hockey team dominated their rival Darien 6-1 to advance to the CIAC finals. Senior captain Doster Crowell, senior Chase Pinkernell, junior Bryce Lydon, junior Brayden Robie, sophomore Tony DelCarmine and freshman Jack Crowell were the six goal scorers in the game.

Tony scored the first goal of the game in the first period, and Braden’s goal in the third period gave the Rams a commanding 3-1 lead that would only increase. Senior Mason Pickering had 16 saves in the game to carry the early lead to the finish line. Furthermore, junior Elliot Kropf was the leading point scorer in the game, tallying three assists and earning the Connecticut High School Hockey Report player of the game.

The 22-2 Rams will now turn their attention to 18-4-2 Notre Dame West Haven in the CIAC final, where the boys will look to win their first state championship in over 50 years. The Rams lost to Notre Dame 5-1 earlier in the season, so they will look to avenge their loss on the biggest stage.

The final will take place at Quinnipiac University on Tuesday, March 19, at 7 p.m. Make sure to go support the boys on their quest for greatness.
