The Zumba revolution spreads like wildfire

Have you ever taken a casual stroll past the New Balance store in town or have been working out at the YMCA and been rudely interrupted by the screams of Shakira and pounding bass of Pitbull? You’re either hearing things or right around the corner from a Zumba class.

Zumba is a dance fitness program created in Colombia in the 1990s by a dancer and choreographer named Alberto “Beto” Perez. Zumba uses latin dance moves and music in an effort to make working out more fun and less of a chore. Girls Lacrosse falls to Wilton, 12-8, in FCIAC championship

On Saturday, May 29, the girls lacrosse team could not climb out of a 7-0 deficit, falling to Wilton by a score of 12-8. The Rams had high hopes for this game against Wilton, especially because they beat them 20-14 earlier in the season. However, for the third consecutive year, the Rams were unable to come out with a victory in the FCIAC championship game.
