Tyler Hill is a junior at NCHS who plays hockey and lacrosse, and has been on the varsity hockey team since freshman year.

What is your day like on game day? Does it even feel like you’re in school/is it hard to focus? Why?

Whenever we come to a game, we always want to make sure we are focused on the game. It does not really feel like a school day because we’re always ready for the game, but of course you have to keep your mind in school a little bit, but it’s mostly focused on the game.

If you could play pick-up with any three NHL players, who would you play with? Why?

Max Pacioretty (Montreal Canadiens), Sidney Crosby (Pittsburgh Penguins) and Marc-André Fleury (Pittsburgh Penguins). I think they would be fun to play with considering that one of them is a goalie so not many goals would be scored on him, and then the other two are really good.

What do you do during the offseason to stay in shape/keep up your skills?

I play another sport and make sure I’m fit. I skate as much as I can because it’s hard to find ice time in the summer.

What is your mindset when your team is down and it’s a close game?

I want to get out there, I want to score, and I want to get us back in it.

How has hockey affected your life?

It’s everyday for one to two hours, and I’ve lost a lot of sleep over the fact that we have to get up early because practice starts around 5:20 am, and it takes up a lot of time.

What is your best personal memory from hockey?

My favorite personal memory was winning FCIACs freshman year. I was thinking How were we able to do this? This is awesome. We worked really hard for it, and we deserved to win.
