School is here, but that doesn’t mean that getting a good night’s sleep has to end. Maximize your rest with the Sleep Cycle alarm clock by figuring out the hours of sleep you need to feel as rested as you do in the summer.

Though there are many different features to this alarm clock, it is still very simple to set up and use. Just put your mobile device on the corner of your bed (the maker suggests under the sheets) and set a general wake-up time, +/- half an hour, to be woken up at. The app tracks your sleep levels throughout the night based on how the device is affected by your movements during each phase of sleep. It uses that information to find when you are at the lightest point of your sleep, which is also the best time for you to wake up. Sleep Cycle saves your sleep patterns every night so you can know your average sleep time and better understand the best time for you to wake up. Kinda cool. Plus, you get a snazzy graph to visually represent your sleep patterns.

So catch some zzz’s before you score some A’s and start the school year on the right side of the bed. Available for $0.99 for iPhone. Not yet compatible with Android or Blackberry.

Stop yourself from ending up like these guys in class:
