“If you put on deodorant today, you’re already living your best life.”

These are the dignified words of Grace Helbig, a 30 year-old Internet personality with roughly 2.7 million subscribers to her YouTube channel, GraceHelbig. Grace is not your average 30 year-old; she is social media sensation, she has a dog named Goose and she is in a constant state of denial that she is an adult. Although her maturity has gone out the window, she has captured her audience because the content she creates is, “not too deep”. Not Too Deep also happens to be the name of her podcast, which is available on iTunes, if you are interested. When she sits down with a guest on this podcast, her line of inquiry tends to go something like this:

  • what is the most satisfying bowl of food to plunge your fist into?
  • have you ever broken into someone’s home? Why or why not?
  • what bird do you hate the most?

While you could ask more groundbreaking questions, I find her approach to interviews very refreshing. Sometimes you need that comedic relief during your day, and I find Grace’s content to be a perfect fit.

I came across Grace’s YouTube channel during my junior year, when I was trying to escape my Precalculus homework. I watched a video called, How I handle hotel rooms. Long story short, the two and a half minute video made me cry from laughter. Within minutes, Grace Helbig gained a subscriber and a die hard fan. Since that fateful day, Grace has written two books, Grace’s Guide: The Art of Pretending to Be a Grown-up and Grace and Style: The Art of Pretending You Have It. Grace also had a late night talk show on E! called The Grace Helbig Show, where she interviewed special guests like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Abby Lee Miller from the TLC show, Dance Moms. Grace has been making her mark on the world of media and entertainment since the day she started her YouTube channel, which has been the platform for her career as an entertainment personality.

All I am saying is that if you are trying to procrastinate and have a good belly laugh, I highly suggest visiting Grace’s Youtube channel and watching one of my top 5 favorite videos.
