Students will get a chance to learn about potential careers, make business connections and network with professionals on Career Night, Mar. 27 at the high school from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Upon arrival, students will receive brief bios of the speakers presenting as well as the industries being represented. Students will attend two, 45 minute sessions, starting at 7:15. Snacks for the night will also be generously provided by Pepsi.
Chairing the event is Julie Brand. Having worked on the event before, Ms. Brand sees the potential the night holds for the futures of many students. “I’ve been hearing stories for years about connections students will make with a particular speaker,” she said. “If we could help one kid figure out a career path, or find an eventual internship with somebody, or create a relationship with somebody that comes to speak so that they start thinking about a particular career, I would be thrilled. And I think we’re going to do that for more than one kid.”
Aside from announcements in school, posters, and posts on Facebook, in the Advertiser and on the NCHS website, Career Night also has its own website.
