Twitter has erupted in protests in response to the cancellation of all winter CIAC tournaments.
I really didn't want to be the first to post this but after confirming with multiple sources, the decision has been made to cancel all remaining CIAC winter tournament games.

My heart breaks for the seniors. #cthk

Extremely disappointed for our team and especially our seniors. Have battled for four years and have had so much success and we’re looking forward to another run to the sun. Sorry to all other teams in the state that still had a shot at something special https://t.co/iBqVOfOXD6

Not for anything but if I was a student athlete and can't do the sport I play because of the coronavirus then I would not be going to school either. #noplaynoschool #walkout

This is the most mad I’ve been at sports in a while…..and I’m both and Ny Giants and Knicks fan! I’m honored to call the basketball games I got to this season……feeling for the Seniors in the Boys Squad and their ended state run #ctbb @NCHSBasketball2 https://t.co/LPSiuUxpOr

This is an unbelievable decision! Maybe postpone the tournament, but to cancel the whole thing while schools are not even closing is ridiculous!

Realistically they probably had to, at the advice of an attorney. Everyone knows that if one kid got sick, there would be lawsuits against everyone.. Unfortunately that’s society today..

Just spoke to Staples girls coach Paco Fabian. He said his girls are devastated. They just want to play and don’t understand why they can go to school with 500 kids but can’t play basketball with 10? #ctgb

I would rather cry with my brothers on the ice after falling in a state tournament game than lose all of our hard work, commitment, and energy we have given this program. absolutely dreadful.

Your #ctgb careers weren’t supposed to end like this. I would love the opportunity to see you two lead your team on the court one last time. Thank you both for everything you’ve done for this team, this program and for me. pic.twitter.com/54Bh9sEjJ9
