With half-day Wednesdays taking place through March, four extra hours await spending. Though often overlooked, this extra time holds the potential for many fun and productive activities.
Now that it is fall, trees are finally exhibiting their breathtaking hues of crimson, canary yellow, and blazing orange. The air is crisp and the sun shines bright, the ideal conditions for going on a walk, jog, or bike ride at Waveny or around town. Even taking just one step outside to enjoy the weather and relax in the autumn breeze is a great way to spend time and calm the mind. However, once it gets colder, it’s not entirely practical to spend time outside, so curling up with a blanket and watching a movie with some hot chocolate or popcorn is an equally enjoyable activity.
It is always beneficial to get an early start on homework to hinder the possibility of procrastination. Whether a busy agenda lies ahead or not, immediately getting homework out of the way can pave a path for success in the long run. A nice way to feel refreshed is to clean up, so if the stress or disorder feels out of control, taking the time to organize would be worth the time. Practicing and perfecting favorite hobbies or sports is an alternative way to effectively spend time away from school on Wednesdays.
Cooking or baking with friends, family, or even just individually is one of the most rewarding activities in addition to being entertaining. A walk into town with friends to grab snacks or lunch, while properly utilizing a mask and maintaining distance to stay safe, could also be a nice break in the week. Finally, one of the best ways to spend a cold, rainy afternoon is to read a book, whether it’s a classic favorite or a brand new book awaiting completion.
These four extra hours can be helpful and productive in academic aspects or simply serve as a nice break in the week to catch up with friends, spend time with family, or relax individually.
