Boys Hockey:
Boys hockey most recently hosted the Prout School at Darien Ice House on January 20. Traveling from Rhode Island, Prout was ranked number one in their state with a 16-0 record. However, the Rams dismantled them 7-0. Junior Bryce Lyden posted a hat trick, along with goal contributions from Luke Frame, Doster Crowell, Brayden Robie and Tony DelCarmine. With his goal Doster hit 100 career points, a huge milestone in New Canaan Hockey history. The Rams look to stay hot as they travel to Fairfield to take on the Warde/Ludlowe hockey team on January 23.
Girls Hockey:
Girls hockey has lost one game all year, a 1-0 loss to Darien. Their 12-1 record puts them third in the FCIAC behind the Blue Wave and Stamford/Westhill/Staples. Their rematch with Darien comes on February 10, a game that will decide postseason seedings.
Girls Track and Field:
Girls track and field most recently traveled to Wilton for a FCIAC qualifying meet on January 20. The girls had standout performances from Ella Panagrossi, Sophie Walther, Ananya Malhotra, Olivia Michelini, Natalie Bukai. Natalie finished second in the long jump competition and Olivia Michelini took first overall in the shot put event. The girls look to continue to play well at the Armory Officials Hall of Fame Invitational.
Boys Track and Field:
At the boys track and field FCIAC qualifying meet, Robert Frangione and Jacob Kozar took home gold in the 600m and the pole vault events. On that same day, January 20, at the Bethel Pentathlon, junior Ryan Boulanger won the one-mile event with a personal record of 4:35.20.
Boys Basketball:
Boys basketball has lost five in a row and is yet to win an FCIAC game. Most recently, the boys took on the 8-1 Fairfield Warde to overtime, and fell 66-62. The Rams now look to break the drought against Greenwich on January 23.
Girls Basketball:
Girls basketball has lost their last two, giving them a 7-4 overall record. Their next game is at Greenwich on Tuesday, January 23.
