Girls Field Hockey
The girls took on Avon in the first round of states and came out ready to dominate. The scoring started early and didn’t let up as they put up 6 goals, cruising to a 6-1 win. It was a team effort as 5 girls scored. The girls then took on Pomperaug in the second round of states and kept the ball rolling picking up the big win 4-0, Lucy Carrol with the clean sheet. The Girls next Game is at Guilford on Tuesday November 14.

Girls Soccer
Girls soccer tied 1-1 against Ridgefield and then lost 5-0 against St. Joe’s in the first round of FCIACs. Monday was the first round of States and they defeated Amity 3-0. This was a must see game that featured many highlight reel plays, the most impressive a goal from Sydney Patton early on in the second half. The Rams moved on to Northwest Catholic, and a header late in the second half from Paige Place gave the girls a 1-0 win. The girls now face Bethal today, November 10, at 4 pm.

Girls XC
Girls Cross Country won Class L at states with key contributions from Juniors Charlotte Moor and Radea Raleva. Charlotte placed 4th and Radea finished in 11th, followed by Elliana Savelli in 22nd. On Monday, November 6, they went back to Wickham Park for State Opens. Charlotte Moor placed 9th, once again leading the team, and contributions from Elianna, Radea and the rest of the team landed them 5th place in the state. Their next stop is New Englands which is Saturday November 25.

Girls Swim and Dive
Girls swim and dive ended the regular season with a record of 3-6. The team competed in the FCIAC finals and placed 5th overall. On the diving side, the girls were near perfect with 1st and 4th place finishes from divers Emma Kelly and Julie Frangione. The girls now look to the bigger stage as they get ready to compete in state trials where they have a chance to make it back to state finals and opens.

Football
Nearing the Turkey Bowl, Football has continued its dominance in recent weeks as they beat Norwalk 51-8 and Bridgeport Central 42-6. Junior Alex Russey, who stepped in for an injured Luke Robinson, has thrown two TDs and rushed for four so far. Looking ahead, the Rams will take on McMahon for Senior Night!

Boys XC
Boys Cross Country placed 6th in FCIACs, and was looking to build off of this in states. With brutal conditions and a key injury to star runner Jacob Kozar, they were just two points away from qualifying for state opens. Ryan Boulanger led New Canaan, finishing in 18th place. That wrapped up their 2023 campaign, giving them hope for the future.

Boys Soccer
Boys Soccer finished the regular season with a 4-8-4 record. The boys were unable to capture a must-win game in their tie against Ridgefield. The win would have sent them to the state playoffs. Their season has officially come to an end and they will not compete in the postseason.

Girls Volleyball
On October 27th, the girls played with their season on the line against Ridgefield. It was a win or go home game for the Rams against an evenly ranked and highly competitive Ridgefield team. It was a closely fought match, with Ridgefield winning 3-1, ending the girls’ season.
