5 ways to improve Major League Baseball

The numbers don’t lie. Baseball is losing popularity, and losing it fast. Attendance numbers have declined rapidly across the league and the World Series is losing viewers fast. In addition, since 1995, little league participation has decreased by 4 million. So, with that in mind, how does baseball reverse the trend and increase it’s popularity? I proposed five ways to improve Major League Baseball.
Girls Hockey Ready to Suit Up

This week, Armchair Athlete’s focus is the upcoming season for girl’s ice hockey. The girls dominated last year, posting a 24-1 record, going 14-0 in their league, and outscoring their opponents by 97 goals and scoring at least six goals in sixteen of their twenty-five games. To cap off the season, they won both State and FCIAC Championships, each by at least five goals, and made it was clear that they were the team to beat coming into this new season. Now captained all FCIAC first-team members Olivia Hompe, and Madzie Caroll, and seniors Kellianne Hickey and Molly Robustelli, the girls are poised to have yet another fantastic season.

College Football Power Rankings

We’re entering week 11 of the college football season, and so far the season has been laced with drama. Except, the drama is for all the wrong reasons, with off the field issues overshadowing the play on the field. Before the season even began, the college football world was rocked by a Yahoo! story about a renegade University of Miami booster who allegedly committed a myriad of NCAA violations. That was after an offseason filled with other issues, including “Tattoo-gate” with Ohio State, and Oregon and LSU dealing with a scout by the name of Willie Lyles. Still, all of that pales in comparison to the recent story at Penn State regarding an alleged child molester of a former coach and a lack of decisive action on the part of the higher-ups at the school.
