After winning only two games in the 2011-2012 season, the boy’s basketball team got right back on track this year with the help of their new coach, Mike Evans. The boys pulled out an overall record of six wins and fourteen losses by the end of the 2012-2013 season.

First impressions are lasting impressions, and as high school students, perception will always be critical. Students at NCHS have four years to leave their mark on our school, and one way certain individuals start is through their clothing. I got the chance to speak with the students in each grade that I deemed “best dressed.” Here is what those seniors had to say about why they dress well and their thoughts on making an impression through clothing.

Students chosen to receive awards at annual recognition assembly

On June 1, students and faculty of NCHS assembled in the auditorium to recognize the accomplishments of its seniors, juniors and a few sophomores. The annual award ceremony congratulated notable members of the student body for their achievements in the past school year. According to Assistant Principal Ari Rothman, the students chosen to receive awards at the assembly are the best representatives of NCHS.

As Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference (FCIACs) and states start to wrap up, senior athletes are preparing to leave the turf fields of NCHS as they move on to college athletics. But for these athletes, summer is not just a vacation: it is also a training session to prepare for them for their upcoming chapter as a college athlete.
