After 31 years of teaching at NCHS, history teacher Douglas Farrenkopf has annouced that he will retire at the end of this year. Mr. Farrenkopf is also the director of the Afternoon Instructrional Program as well as summer school and the creator of the Greater New Canaan Enrichment Program.

Overbeck retires after 21 years at NCHS

After coaching at NCHS for 21 years, Gail Overbeck recently gave news of her retirement from the position of head coach for the girls’ varsity tennis team. Ms. Overbeck originally started coaching at the high school in 1991.
Dr. Abbey announces his retirement

On Oct. 12, Superintendent of Schools David Abbey announced his retirement. Dr. Abbey will officially end his term on July 1 after serving the NCPS school system for nearly twenty years.
Principal Tony Pavia announces retirement
Today, November 11th, Principal Tony Pavia announced his retirement. He is in his fifteenth year as a principal, and is in his ninth year here. In an email addressed to faculty, he wrote, “I have given this school the very best I have to offer and not unlike an aging athlete, I have decided that it is best to leave while the spring is still in my step.”
