This past Friday, the Italian Center of Stamford hosted hundreds of NCHS students for the 2013 Junior Prom. As juniors arrived to one of the biggest social events on our school’s calendar, their clothes were photographed and on display for all to notice. After careful consideration, here are the ten looks that I found most outstanding from this year’s JProm.
New standardized testing to be introduced

The Connecticut Academic Performance Test (CAPT) is the standardized testing that sophomores have been taking since the early nineties. The tests are state-based exams used to measure the performance of Connecticut students. “The exams are used to test student proficiency across the state,” Principal Dr. Bryan Luizzi said. “They are brought in to align high school curriculums with state standards.”
Students voice confusion over strictly enforced driving rules
Thwarted in their attempts to go off campus, many juniors such as Emily have now voiced complaint amongst each other over the “new driving rules”. However, according to assistant principal, Dr. Veronica LeDuc, “The rules regarding parking and driving privileges have been in place for over a decade.”
