Students work for array of summer jobs

When school is let out for summer break, students are relieved at the low pressure the two months of vacation have to offer. Whether they spend the break sitting by the pool or training for sports, students take advantage of the time to recharge for the upcoming school year. This summer, some students enjoyed filling up their time with a job or volunteer opportunity.

Two students voyage overseas to Africa and Europe

While many students’ summers are filled with time consuming jobs or days at the beach, some privileged teens are jet setting around the world gaining experiences of a lifetime. They took the time to find programs outside of school that allowed them to travel and focus in on their specific interests. Senior Jackie Trager reflected on her trip with her family to three different countries in Africa.

A limited press limits world view

What I remember of Nairobi is highway from the airport where guards were stationed with guns that had been painted gold, so they’d be obvious even at night. The image I have of the rest of the country is the soft red dirt and a lot of sky, with bushes sticking out in odd tufts along the creases of the land.
