Sophomore Jim Bush* first used smokeless tobacco during the summer before his freshman year in high school. By second semester, Jim was purchasing his own smokeless tobacco from local gas stations and vendors and bringing it to school every day. Now, Jim says he is addicted and uses smokeless tobacco upwards of eight to nine times a day, regardless of whether he is in class.

Dr. Abbey announces his retirement

On Oct. 12, Superintendent of Schools David Abbey announced his retirement. Dr. Abbey will officially end his term on July 1 after serving the NCPS school system for nearly twenty years.
Students voice confusion over strictly enforced driving rules
Thwarted in their attempts to go off campus, many juniors such as Emily have now voiced complaint amongst each other over the “new driving rules”. However, according to assistant principal, Dr. Veronica LeDuc, “The rules regarding parking and driving privileges have been in place for over a decade.”
