Spring Wardrobe 101

It’s still winter yet I cannot stop thinking about spring.  There are so many fun and flattering trends forming that the industry is buzzing with excitement. I’ve spotted the following spring pieces on the runways, celebrities, and in the fashion industry. Be careful when pairing these pieces together because of the chunky accessories and bright coloring of the clothing– clashing may occur. Please pay close attention to what you would wear out to the city opposed to what you would wear as the star of a circus performance. With just a few of these pieces added to your wardrobe, you’ll be set for spring 2010!

1) Print Skirts

Paired with tough, chic shoes or chunky statement jewelry, you can’t go wrong with print skirts this spring. Although minis are going to be a hit, aim for skirts that hit an inch or two above the knee; sophistication is always key.  Marc by Marc Jacob’s spring 2010 collection of bright prints should be your go-to inspiration for out-of-the box color combinations (as shown above). Marc has a wide color selection and new collection that can appeal to just about anyone.

BALENCIAGA

2) Bright Leather Bags
Become one with the leather and place your life into it— don’t be caught without one of these! Classic and chic, Balenciaga has a great array of colors to choose from. They go fast, so snag a few before the city socialites get to them first (I did!).

3) Chunky Necklaces

Replacing your winter scarf with one of these will make the perfect winter-spring transition. Choose neutrals in your outfit in order to make the necklace the main attraction. Kate Spade has a collection of elegant, pastel jewelry that can be dress up or down.

4) Clogs I am slightly disturbed yet thrilled by this new trend—who knew clogs were going to come back? Apparently Chanel had their shoes’ debut during the Chanel Spring 2012 show.

5) Stacked Bracelets

As a classic spring/summer trend, stacked bracelets always come back. Although mixing metals is a bit nauseating, this is the perfect time (and only exception) to do that. Mix gold, silver, and rustic metals to add a bohemian jest to a spring outfit. Trade with friends, dig in your mother’s jewlry, and go vintage shopping for the perfect combination. Load on the charms, studs, and bangles for a trendy  L.A. look!
