It’s that time of year again: the snow is melting, temperatures are jumping from 30 to 60 degrees, and Uggs are once again being worn with dresses—it’s spring! Technically, spring won’t be for about another two weeks, but that isn’t stopping anyone from wearing the most popular, up-and-coming trends. The slouchy sweaters aren’t going away and neither is the heavy military look (Sorry, girlies! Not too many florals this season). Leather, studs, distinct prints, zippers, and edge are all cleaned up neatly into one look. These elements will be strongly present in most fashion forward looks along with boho and native inspired pieces. Inspiration for these trends has come from all previous seasons creating a unique look that many may have to experiment with first.

Military and native inspired pieces are being thrown together at random to create a laid back look. Try wearing a military jacket with a girly dress if you’re looking for an edgy look. Or, layer a tribal print cardigan over another slouchy sweater and bodycon skirt. Combat and fringe boots would compliment either one of these outfits. Pair the boots with shorts, skirts, or dresses if gladiators or sandals aren’t your thing. If leather jackets are also not your thing, try wearing them with a low key outfit such as a simple graphic tee and a plain bodycon skirt (so essential).

This spring, stay away from too many florals. Although they’re always present in the sunny seasons, trying exploring different patterns such as the tribal prints. Tribal prints are going to be everywhere—dresses, skirts, shorts, scarves, and even shoes. They are just as loud as florals are can be found in both the brightest and faintest colors.

If you haven’t taken note yet, this season’s style is pretty different than any others. It’s tough, edgy, and fun to experiment with.

The following looks were made with this season’s trends in mind:
