On May 27, the senior class took a break from classes and internships to give back and help kids from the Edison School located in Bridgeport, CT. On Wednesday morning at around 8:30, all of the seniors met in the gym to start planning the activities and discuss the day. The students chose the activities they wanted to host and split up into large groups for each station. At around 10:30, several busses of K to 6th grade students cheered with joy as they pulled into the entrance of NCHS and saw the track field and Dunning field covered with fun games and activities. They filed off the busses, sat down in lines, and waited anxiously to begin the fun-filled day ahead of them.
The older kids spent the day on Dunning, while the younger kids went over to the track field. The kids were put into the different stations with activities like tug of war, obstacle courses, potato sac races, running races, face painting and many more. Throughout each activity, the seniors supported the kids by cheering them on and even participating in the events with them. After a long, active day in the sun, the seniors piggy backed the kids inside to the cafeteria to enjoy ice cream and pizza.
