Ram Jam, the annual senior post-prom fundraiser, will be held in the auditorium on Friday, March 22. Senior models will take the stage in dresses from Winged Monkey and tuxedos from Camillo’s, accompanied by music from a live band. Tickets can be purchased on the PFA website for $20 or at the event for $25.
Pulling together the highly anticipated event is a multi-step process. “Once we have parent volunteers in place, we create a timeline for the event,” Ram Jam coordinator Megan Sibbett said. “The first major piece is getting the seniors on board to participate as models and perform the skits. Once the students have signed up, we start scheduling them for fittings and making sure they are getting skits put together,” she said. “Then we start thinking about the flow of the actual show, the staging and making sure it will be entertaining for the audience.”
Ram Jam is a fun and creative way for students to support senior post-prom. “The Ram Jam is a fashion show and talent show hybrid. Guys and girls will be able to pick tuxes and dresses and walk down the runway with friends. There will also be funny skits and performances as well,” said senior Benj Sibbett. “The more money Ram Jam makes, the cooler the prizes and activities will be at post-prom,” he said.
The event contributes to the community by bringing the talents of students together. “Ram Jam helps to fund the senior post-prom and is a great way for the community to come together for a fun night that celebrates the many great things about our high school including the people, the art, and the music,” said senior Alex Benevento.
The tuxes and dresses are a highlight of the Ram Jam. “The fashion show focuses on prom fashions. The girl models will be wearing a whole range of prom styles – in a range of colors and styles. Most of the dresses are floor-length. The boys will be modeling a range of tuxes from very traditional, to fun and colorful.” said Ms. Sibbett.
Ram Jam is one of the many NCHS traditions for seniors to look forward to. “It is one of the longstanding traditions of the school and is a blast to participate in,” said senior class president Drew Bench.
All seniors are invited to participate in this unique and once in a lifetime event. “The seniors should participate in the Ram Jam because it is a fun way to celebrate the end of their time at NCHS amongst their peers, while fundraising for their post-prom, and contributing to an exciting community event,” said senior Alex Cota.
