This is our honest review of 2023 Karl Largerfeld inspired Met Gala outfits. We would like to say that we are in no means fashion experts, we are solely rating on how we feel about the outfits and if we think they hit the theme.
Stunning. Beautiful. We have no words. Dua Lipa was so on theme and the vintage Chanel wedding gown was definitely the right move. Our only suggestion is that we wanted more from the hair. It was a little boring. Overall 9.83/10. From knees up, this outfit is amazing. The hair and glam were flawless and the dress looked beautiful on her. From below the knees, it looks like there is a black sock hanging from her legs. What was the reason? Overall, 7.34/10. This was definitely a choice. Jared Leto tried to embody Lagerfeld’s cat, but this is just simply too weird for us. It looks like a Halloween costume and does not belong at the Met. We just want to know what was going through his head when he thought of this idea. Overall, 2.48/10. Anne Hathaway is our best dressed of the night. This white Versace gown with gold accents was perfect. Combined with the gloves, glam and accessories, this outfit was not even close to being beaten. Overall 10/10. Considering Rihanna was pregnant, this is a great look. The gown was simple yet elegant and the white rose coat elevated the look. Plus, her and A$AP Rocky looked so good together. Overall, 8.76/10. So ugly. It was not funny when Doja Cat meowed during every interview. The dress deserves some credit but acting like a real cat ruined it. Overall 2.34/10. We love this look on Kim Kardashian however we think she looks “artificial”. By that we mean she does not look like a human. Don’t get us wrong, this is a great look and 100% hits the theme. Overall 7.88/10. Olivia Rodrigo looks like a modern take on Beetlejuice. And not in a good way. This look is thrown together and the hair is certainly not helping. Overall 4.57/10. Jack Harlow. Not his best. But he tends to pull off everything he wears, so it still looks good. But, we expected, and needed, more. Overall 8.12/10. Taika Waititi gave everything he needed to give. The fabrics tied together with the long pearl accessories pull this look together. This is what we need more of in mens fashion. Overall 9.84/10. Of course, we couldn’t do a Met Gala review without highlighting the cockroach who stole the show. This little bug threw everyone for a loop, and we wanted to take a minute to appreciate it. Overall 100/10.
