Boys Golf
Boys golf took home second place in the FCIAC championship on October 20, falling just short of undefeated Greenwich; Greenwich 327, New Canaan 329.
Before the championship event, head coach Bill Brown expected the tough competition from Greenwich, saying, “We are going to have to play well, and they are going to have to play poorly for us to win.” However, despite a slight setback finishing in second place, Coach Brown said about his team, “I’m proud of them for consistently working hard and staying focused throughout the successful season.”
As a season full of highs reaches its final stages, Coach Brown and the rest of the team, led by seniors James Casey, Cullen McCarthy, and Sean Watchmaker, will now look to finish off their New Canaan golf careers on a positive note at the CIAC championship on October 24.

Girls Cross Country
After a perfect 17-0 season, girls cross country fell short finishing in second place during FCIACs on October 19, just three points behind Ridgefield. Sophomore stars Charlotte Moor and Radea Raleva each finished in eighth and tenth place respectively, with times of 20:08 and 20:29.
Before the race, Moor said, “Our team is very deep and we feel excited about our ability to win this year.” The girls were competing against thirteen other teams including top competitor Darien, Greenwich and Wilton. The race was not easy, but regardless, the Rams prevailed in their second-place win. Despite this, the girls still have the CIAC Class L Championship race on October 29 and the CIAC State Open Championship on November 4.
