Starting May 21, 2016, the Pura Vida club, Feed My Starving Children food packing event, led by Sharon and Ian Knechtle, hopes to bag at least 250,000 meals with over 1,000 volunteers. With the first starting at 10 AM on Saturday, May 21, the club hopes to fill the day with productive work as well as fun. Although each session is only 2 hours, they run all day Saturday starting at 10, and go through Sunday until 8:30 PM. Although Sunday is fully booked, multiple afternoon sessions on Saturday are still in need of volunteers. After your lunch or sporting event during your Saturday afternoon, why don’t you go pack a meal for someone who might not be able to enjoy lunch like you? Each meal’s mission is to fight malnutrition and increase the health of individuals, while providing them with enjoyable food. The meal consists of rice, soy, dried vegetables, and chicken protein. All of these ingredients will help one child at a time in increasing their well-being. To get more involved with Pura Vida and sign up for the food packing event starting this weekend, click HERE.
