Each year the Drama Department holds Dramafest, a contest for aspiring playwrights. Students submit 20-minute plays based on a predetermined theme. This year’s theme is “a way out.” The top four are produced, cast, and directed by students.
This year the Drama Department chose to team up with Hartford Stage’s Write On contest. This allows students to develope their plays over the course of the year, and submit them over the summer. Submissions are due Friday, Jan. 29th to the Drama Department. Winners will be announced Monday, Feb. 1st. Look out for more news on the Dramafest playwright this Friday.
