About: Ms. Calcagni is excited to start the school year at NCHS and can already see that “it is such a strong community with a collaborative environment.” The New Teacher Orientation allowed her to get to know the staff and experience this new environment. Before becoming a school psychologist, Ms. Calcagni was a recreational therapist. In this job, she had a lot of interaction with school psychologists, which made her want to become one herself. According to Ms. Calcagni, this job gives her a different insight into students’ lives than other teachers may get. “I think that being a school psychologist gives me an interesting perspective on high school students.”
