This year, NCHS decided to take a new approach to commemorating our nation’s Veterans on November 11th. Unlike past years, where larger scale presentations were given in the auditorium and Wagner room, this year’s Veterans Day included six smaller, more intimate classroom discussions between students and veterans along with a special NCTV broadcast. In an effort to increase the appreciation and awareness of American veterans, NCTV aired a compilation of veteran interviews conducted two years ago by former NCHS students. As well as being shown in each Connections classroom as a way of informing students about the lives and duties of veterans, the interviews are also meant to be sent to the Library of Congress in order to add to their limited collection of recorded interviews with American veterans.
