Hope in the Midst of Quarantine; Miracle at Miracle Hill

Every weekday, I will be posting bits of hope and positivity from around the world in the midst of the Coronavirus quarantine

Greenville, South Carolina reports 214 cases of the coronavirus, and with a peak in deaths the next few weeks, makeshift hospitals need to be made. The homeless represent one of the most at-risk groups during this pandemic, and thankfully Miracle Hill Rescue Mission created a new quarantine center to test and hold homeless people who’ve contracted the coronavirus.

Doors are blocked off with plastic to limit contact while inside the gymnasium are dozens of cots and dividers. The building can hold up to 100 men and women and a community paramedic is easily accessible to test symptomatic people onsite. If positive and asymptomatic, they will be put into the quarantine area. If symptomatic, they will still go to the hospital.

Though it is only a temporary space until the statewide tier one and two health systems are put into place to treat those patients with less than acute symptoms, Miracle Hill is protecting some of the most vulnerable people at this time.

Their quick-thinking and kindness provides a safe space for many.
