With the holidays over, NCHS girls are sporting all new gifts and all new winter trends. While there’s some overlap from fall (especially with this weird warm weather) girls are still changing it up for the winter season! Here are my top five favorite trends:
These chic mossy brown and deep navy J. Crew field jackets have been seen all over our school. This awesome coat combines menswear with a tailored silhouette look. The light coat is perfect for those mild winter days and looks great with any outfit. It’s nothing like those puffy ski coats that were a pain to lug around! These can be found online at jcrew.com or at the J. Crew in town.
2. Wool Socks
Are your Hunter boots too cold for the snow? Wool socks are perfect to warm up any boot and also look adorable peeking out from the top of your shoes! Typically people wear them with the classic duck boot. You can find them anywhere from L.L. Bean to J. Crew.
3. Vests
With the chilly weather and NCHS student’s refusal to use their lockers, wearing vests is an easy alternative to hauling a huge jacket around. Puffy or furry, these vests are a staple in a girl’s winter wardrobe. Make a plain long-sleeved shirt look bright with a colored puffer vest or dress it up a bit with a fur vest! J. Crew, and Rugby carry puffer vests and Caren Forbes has fun furry ones!
4. Wrap Bracelets
We all went through that phase in middle school where it was so cool to wear a million friendship bracelets that you would NEVER take off. Wrap bracelets give an update to this layered look all in one bracelet! You are bound to find wrap bracelets in Caren Forbes, Wave or any jewelry store in town!
5. Michael Kors (or any) Watch
For you people who can’t tell time the old fashioned way you have no excuse not to sport this seasons most popular wrist accessory. The most popular watches gracing girl’s wrists have been the tortoise shell Michael Kors one! Watches in general have become the new trend as a ton of people came back from Christmas break with the time ;).
